Employee Incentive Programs

Welcome to the "Employee Incentives & Resource Guide". First we LEARN how incentives work, why these are necessary and their long-term impact on the well being of the organization and its employees.

The second step is to ACT and correctly apply incentive programs as they fit in your organization.

The third step is to measuring the SUCCESS. The key is to know what works and what does not work in your organization.

The main reason why incentives work is that they make employees feel important. Receiving something of tangible or even intangible (like vacation incentives) values make people happy. Secondly, it reduces tensions between the diverse group of people within the organization: co-workers, supervisors, managers, etc. In a way incentives dilute negativity. This is also a method of rewarding something "Extra" to deserving employees for some "Extra work or Extraordinary" performance. This something "EXTRA" is magic; it works wonders.

Make the incentives work for you:

1.

Do not make the incentive program as a part of routine giveaways, other effectiveness is diluted. (Unless incentives are part of game plan-Sales Quota, etc

2.

Give something extra for; extra efforts, good performance, etc.

3.

Maintain an element of surprise. If everyone knows that something is coming then the level of expectation may rise (many time too high). In that case the value of incentives decline.

4.

Keep the incentive program alive on a constant basis. This will keep staff motivated and engaged.
